Classic Snooker

When a shy postman from South Wales called Terry Griffiths hoisted the Embassy World Snooker Trophy above his head, little did I know just how big this newly emerging sport was going to be!

As a young and hungry freelancer, the arrival of the nations' biggest spectator sport on my doorstep was a gift from heaven. I was soon involved in shooting every tournament and aspect of the game. All the players joined the original top few names such as Fred Davis, Ray Reardon and the mercurial 'Hurricane' Higgins in my ever-expanding files.

Newspapers, magazines, book publishers and advertisers, all clamoured for new pictures of the latest world champion or upcoming youngster. By the time the original snooker superstar Steve Davis launched the game into the sporting First Division I was the games' leading supplier of pictures.

The best of those classic green baize pictures are still available for editorial use, and are now presented as premium quality prints and stretched canvas.
